How much will my cake/cupcake order cost?
To get a general idea of our pricing, please check out our Pricing page. The price for each cake is based on the number of servings, the type of cake, the fillings selected, and the covering or exterior coating chosen, so there is no set price for a custom cake.
Our minimum order for a wedding cake is $200 and $50 for a special occasion cake, meaning we do custom decorations on it. In general, pricing ranges from $3-$10 per serving for wedding cake.
Do I have to put down a deposit?
Wedding Cakes
A non refundable deposit of $100 or 50% (whichever is less) is required to reserve the date for your cake. This is due at least two months prior to the day of the event, but a deposit may be placed during the consultation if convenient. This deposit will apply toward the total cost of your cake and will immediately secure that date JUST for you. Payments may be made for the balance due, with the final payment required two (2) weeks prior to your wedding date.
Special Occasion Cakes
A 25% deposit may be required for a party or special occasion cake.
What is the pricing list on the top of your pricing page? How is that different from custom cake pricing?
We do offer simple cakes with standard decorations. These are listed at the top of the Pricing page and include buttercream, roses, daisies or other simple flowers, basic borders, and a message written on the cake. This is the style of cake offered as part of the Jump Around Fun Zone birthday party package.
Do you ship cakes?
We do not ship cakes....there just wouldn't be much left when they arrived!! We do hand deliver your cake in Whatcom, Skagit and Snohomish counties and beyond!
What is your delivery policy?
Inside the city of Bellingham, deliveries are $20 for wedding cakes, otherwise delivery fees are calculated by the distance traveled to your event and start at $15 per hour. Special occasion cakes may be picked up or delivered. Delivery charge may apply. Deliveries are available outside of the city, but please ask us for a quote. Our delivery area extends as far south as Seattle, and as far north as Vancouver, BC (any customs or duties are the responsibility of the client).
Do you make individual cakes, cupcakes and decorated cookies?
Yes, we do but each order fresh baked and is custom designed to suit your event so please give us a call in advance of your event to place your cake order and secure your date.
How far in advance should I order a cake?
We are often booked months ahead of time, so the sooner you reserve your place on our calendar, the better. We require a minimum of two months but for weddings we suggest a minimum of three months and six months is even better. Please contact us to discuss our availability, or check our event calendar for a quick answer. For special event cakes we do not require as much notice, but the more time you give us, the more unique we can make your cake!
How do I order a cake from AFCC?
The best thing to do is email us or give us a call. For a wedding, the most important thing to do first is check the date! We want to make sure we are available before we commit to your cake! Please provide the following information and we will confirm your date is still available, give you a rough estimate and invite you to meet with us at a mutually convenient time to further discuss your cake. If you decide to go with another decorator, not a problem, we would really appreciate if you would let us know and of course we wish you all the best!

Do you offer tastings? Where would I meet you?
We do offer tasting appointments to clients based on our availability. If we are able to make a cake for you then we will schedule an appointment to discuss all of the details of your cake. Due to how busy everyone is these days, most appointments are made on Sundays from 10:00 - 4:00pm. We will bake you either a dozen cupcakes or a 6", two layer cake for $20. This fee will be credited towards your purchase price if you decide to place on order. Fridays and Saturdays we are busy finishing and delivering cakes. Please contact us and we will make every effort to work within your schedule if the Sunday time frame does not work for you.
Can you work with my florist?
Yes we are happy to work with your florist in fact we would prefer that happen if you choose to have fresh flowers on your cake. Please discuss your cake with your florist and we will work with them to ensure your cake is everything you expect it to be!
Can you reproduce a cake from a photograph or a magazine picture?
Yes, in fact many clients bring pictures of cakes they would like or some aspect of a cake they would like us to replicate. We will of course refine the design to make it yours!
Do you have a retail store? May I visit?
We do not have a bakery or nor do we offer any pre-made cakes for sale. We work out of a local commercial kitchen but it is not a place to meet. All our cakes are made, decorated and served within a very short period of time so we do not keep, freeze or store any cake.
Do you have a catalog or brochure?
We do have a brochure but the same information can be found our website. If you have a question and don't see the answer you're looking for, email us! We do not have a catalogue.
Do you have any job openings?
While we hope to one day employ a whole crew of bakers and decorators, we are not in need of additional staff at this time. We do however appreciate your interest! Thanks.
Do you have an intern program?
We do not have an intern program at this time, but we are very busy during the summer and we may consider one in future. If we do, we'll post it on our website!
Do you offer classes?
Debbie and Andrea are both instructors and we do teach both private and group classes if you have a place to hold them. We are currently looking for space in which to teach on a more permanent basis and will keep you posted as we set up a more regular class schedule.
Classes are a great gift idea and a wonderful activity to have as part of any celebration! We would be happy to create a custom class or activity for your particular event.
